What to Expect on your First Visit

Before You Arrive

We have an online health history form that you can fill out before your appointment. If you're unsure how to complete it, no worries! Just come 10-15 minutes early, and you can fill it out at the clinic.

Getting Ready for Your Massage

Your Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) will guide you to a private treatment room, where they’ll go over your health form and ask about any specific areas of tension or discomfort. They’ll also talk to you about the massage techniques they’ll be using and make sure the treatment plan matches your needs.

Next, the therapist will step outside to give you privacy while you change. You can choose how much or how little you want to remove, depending on your comfort level. Whether you keep your clothes on or take them off, just make sure you wear something loose and comfortable if you're keeping clothes on (like a t-shirt and sweatpants).

During the Massage

Once you’re comfortable on the table, the RMT will begin the session. You’ll stay covered with a sheet, and only the part of your body being worked on will be exposed.

Your RMT will check in with you from time to time about the pressure. If it’s too much or too little, don’t hesitate to let them know. You can also ask for a quiet session or chat if you prefer, and calming music will play unless you’d rather it be silent.

 After Your Massage

When the massage ends, your RMT will let you know and leave the room to give you privacy while you get dressed. Once you’re ready, just open the door to signal them to return.

Your therapist will then offer you some water, share any helpful aftercare advice, and discuss your next steps or treatment plan. Feel free to ask any questions you might have at this point.

Afterward, you’ll head to reception, where you can schedule your next visit if you'd like.

Remember, your comfort is key, so always feel free to communicate what feels best for you throughout the session!
